Obesity and depression - an endless circle |
A meta-analysis conducted by researchers from the Netherlands found between obesity and depression there is a relationship that could lead to a an endless cycle.
This meta-analysis included 15 studies with a total number of 59 000 participants.
According to the study, people with obesity are in risk of depression by 55% higher, while there is an inverse relationship: patients with depression are at risk of obesity by 58% higher.
Further analysis also showed that the relationship between obesity and depression is more expressed for Americans than Europeans. |
